Gina Alfonso, PhD, M.S.Ed., ATR-B.C.
Gina is an Art Therapist with over 20 years of combined experience in the clinical and education setting. She has worked in countries all over the world. She completed her doctoral studies in Expressive Arts in Therapy, Education, Consulting, Conflict Resolution and Peace-building at the European Graduate School. She is also engaged in development and consulting to bridge the divide between education and mental health through the expressive arts.


Kathy Ponce, MBA

Managing Director
Kathy took her MBA at the Asian Institute of Management, Philippines, and has had 10 years of experience in managing transitions, navigating unstructured work environments, and coaching teams to steer and mobilize change.  Since joining MAGIS, her practice has evolved to incorporate the Expressive Arts in workplaces for wellbeing and innovation. She advocates for creative learning in organizations, and is herself a writer and musician.


Gabby Dy-Liacco, Ph.D.

Clinical Director
Gabby has over 15 years of experience as a licensed professional counselor, and trained in Loyola College in Maryland, USA. He holds practice across Metro Manila, and is an associate professor at Regent University. His research interest is in the role of religious and spiritual experience in the human psychological system. In 2015, he received a Papal appointment to the Commission for the Protection of Minors. and was re-appointed for a second term in 2018.


Miah Tanchoco

Assistant Director – Program Management
Miah graduated AB Psychology from AdMU and had a year of service with Jesuit Volunteers Philippines Foundation, Inc. Since then she’s had 15 years of work experience in the different areas of Human Resource. She has also done projects with consulting firms that specialize in organizational development and team building programs. Self-care, character development and social development have always had a soft spot in her heart, which brought her to MAGIS.

Josefa Angelica L. Atayde, M.S., R-DMT

Program Director – Expressive Arts
Joey is a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist with the American Dance Therapy Association. She finished her graduate studies in Dance/Movement Therapy at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. As a dance/movement therapist, she has worked with numerous individuals ranging from children with autism and developmental delays to adults with various mental illnesses such as depression, dementia and schizophrenia among others. In her work, she uses the body and movement as a form of psychotherapy and a way to integrate the mind, body and spirit which are interrelated.


Adi Santos
Communications Manager
Adi is a graduate of 3D Design & Craft at the University of Brighton, United Kingdom. Interested in the intersection of creativity and learning, her research interests include tactile experience and language in learning, and the application of art and design to foster creativity, holistic development, and productivity. Currently, her creative practice includes photography, writing, and pottery–for which she runs classes at MAGIS.


Imee Lukban

Administrative Officer
Imee is usually the first of the team you meet when you visit our headquarters, or the first voice you hear when you call in. Her diverse and long-standing experience with administrative operations and client care in contexts of education, customer service, medical services, and corporate make her the ideal all-round eyes and ears of our headquarters. Imee likes to play the ukulele and piano.

Gia Umil
Research and Programs Coordinator
Gia is a registered psychometrician who finished BA Psychology at the University of the Philippines – Diliman. Passionate about mental health, she developed an enthusiasm for the arts as an instrument for healing since interning at MAGIS post-graduation. Gia has also been practicing yoga for the last 8 years, and integrates knowledge of this practice in co-facilitating groups and workshops on self-care.


Bambi Gamban

Program Facilitator
Bambi is an expressive arts practitioner, workshop facilitator, and retreat director, completing her Masters degree in Theology at the Divine Word School of Theology in Tagaytay City. She has facilitated values camps for elementary students and has conducted retreats and team-building workshops for both children and adults for various organizations. Bambi has been closely mentored as a trainer by board certified clinicians and has co-facilitated numerous workshops on self-care and psychosocial integration through arts-based approaches. Her background also includes professional theatre production work, catering, tap dancing and graphic design.
